cognicize
humans are inherently relational. our mental health and well-being are intricately tied to one another’s, but also to the places we inhabit. despite this, models of mental health are often constructed as singular moments of care. cognicize is a project about developing cognitively healthy lives together, and seeks to address these issues by reimagining what is possible within our public spaces when we prioritize issues of care and mental well-being. it explores this idea by shaping public spaces built around enhancing mental capacity and maintaining mental well-being, together. each cognitive device is made with interaction in mind so as to promote social cohesion, learning, and discovery.
this project was done in collaboration with gerontologist and memory specialist dr. hubert tremblay.
